Pregnancy Pilates and Post Natal Pilates

Pregnancy Pilates Dublin at The Pilates Hub are for mums to be from 12 weeks pregnant.
Ante natal Pilates exercises are very gentle on the body as it is a low impact exercise.
Pilates is generally safe in the Second and third Trimester of your pregnancy.
There are also many benefits:

  • Pilates exercises focus on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles and abdominals, which is very important during pregnancy.
  • It keeps blood circulating throughout your body including the abdominal areas which is important for the health of your baby.
  • Pilates has proven to help with lower back pain during your term and also with reducing pelvic girdle pain.
  • Exercising releases endorphins, reduces stress levels –helping to stabilise hormonal changes in the body during pregnancy.
We currently have two Pregnancy Pilates classes per week.
Wednesdays 7.30pm and Saturdays 10.30am.
A lot of our clients find it very beneficial to attend two classes per week. Especially in later stages of pregnancy as other forms of exercise become more challenging.
As Pilates is adaptable to each trimester and stage of a womens pregnancy, you can continue your Pilates practice at your own pace.

Post Natal Pilates Classes

Post Natal Pilates classes at The Pilates Hub are for new mums from 6-8 weeks following a natural delivery or 10-12 weeks post caesarian section birth, and are cleared to return to exercise by their health professional.

Classes are designed specifically for new mums, and all the challenges that brings. The classes will focus on understanding the changes your body goes through, the importance of posture and practicing safe and effective exercises in the post natal period. The classes focus on strengthening core muscles, correcting postural issues including back and pelvic pain.

Each class is preceded in assessing each new client for possible abdominal separation.

Mum and Baby Pilates

This is a post natal Pilates class that allows you to get in shape while having fun with your baby, and no babysitter needed!

Classes are designed specifically for new mums, and all the challenges that brings. The classes will focus on understanding the changes your body goes through, the importance of posture and practicing safe and effective exercises in the post natal period. The classes focus on strengthening core muscles, correcting postural issues including back and pelvic pain.

During the class we may incorporate your baby into the class, or just let them stay beside you and sleep. You choose, this is very much a baby led class.

Each class is preceded in assessing each new client for possible abdominal separation.
